Education like a business or education like a right?
The problem
in specific make me feel very worry, because the fact of that exist people that
think that only for have money they should be study make me feel that they are
incapable of see the reality, especially if they think that charge for
education is a normal think, because this form of think return to normal the
capitalism abuse, where the ideology is based only in the money and how to do
more and more of that. However, make me feel a less of better that people think
that the superior education should be free, should be a right, because is of
this form how the system should to works, from the equity. But now, is
important to understand how I feel, that I see how is that works the 2
perspectives.
The
phenomenon of the present problem is that actually, in Chile, the number of private
universities that charge for education has been continuously growing, and it
has did that appear different perspectives about the problem, about we can see
that for one hand exist people that think it’s okay, and pay for education is a
normal things the present. However, for another hand people think that the fact
that the universities charge for education is a really bad thing, because the
education should be free and for all.
For
understand the problem first we can understand the 2 perspectives, and the
people how think that is normal the university charge for education probably
think too that not all the people merit study, because of this perspective we
can understand that in opportunities, in this system, if you don’t have a great
score in the PSU for study in a public university or you can’t have a
socioeconomic situation where you can opt to some scholarship, you can’t study
without money to pay the education, and this give us a great problem because
would be the cash enough criterion for select the students, and not her
academic capacities.
In the
other perspective we see that the education shouldn’t be charge, but it should
be free, so from this idea we understand that all should have the same
opportunity of study, and the only thing that works as a criterion of selection
will be the academic capacities, where if you want study, you can do it,
because anything could prevents them.
If we
compare 2 ideas we say how one works more for the usefulness for the society,
where obviously in a capitalist society will be advisable that in a present
where the majority of the people want study, make the superior education a
business is a really good idea, but only from ignore the great number of people
that couldn’t study for don’t have enough money, and from this ultimate idea is
that we understand why the second perspective works more for the human
component, where the superior education is more a human right –always should
can opt- than a business, because the focal point is in the people and her
reality, not the capitalism and make more money.
After all
the explication of the perspectives I think that my sensation is more
understandable, where I want to add that my final sensation is of displeasure;
because for more that the people think that the system should be different or
participate in different activities for make pressure in the government, the
actual system works from the money and not from the people, where we are more a
number than a person, where we rights are more a shadow than a something with
real importance to the government
